How to use THE

arctic ease WRAP:

The Arctic Ease Cryotherapy Wrap can be applied multiple times per day depending on the severity of the injured area. The wrap may be worn for several hours at a time. To use the Arctic Ease Cryotherapy Wrap, wrap the affected joint utilizing a figure-8. A figure-eight wrap is used to limit joint movement of the hand, elbow, knee, ankle, or foot.

Knee Pain
Common Causes:
Everyday activities can put a lot of strain on your knees, leaving them stiff and swollen, and leaving you in pain. The pain can get worse if you are very active since the cartilage that protects and cushions your bone surfaces can wear away over time. Conditions like degenerative joint disease, arthritis and tendonitis can all affect the knee.

Arthritis Three different types of arthritis can affect the knee. Osteoarthritis is the most common and is usually a slow, progressive, degenerative disease. How to apply the  Arctic Ease Cryotherapy Wrap to the knee

​​1. Start wrapping above the knee making one complete circular turn to secure the wrap in place.
2. Bring wrap diagonally behind knee and around leg just below the knee. Complete figure-eight by bringing wrap back up diagonally behind the knee and around the leg just above the knee.
3. Make another complete figure-eight overlapping lower on previous layer.
4. Make a circular turn just above the knee and begin downward, overlapping circular turns around the knee providing compression to the whole joint. Secure below knee by smoothing self-adhering wrap.

Ankle and Foot Pain

​Common Causes:
Ankle pain can impact every aspect of your life. From running to lying in bed, swollen or painful ankles can make even the simplest tasks difficult. The most common injuries that occur in the ankle joint are sprains, arthritis and tendonitis.

Ankle Sprains occur most frequently when partaking in physical activity, especially those with a lot of side to side motions like basketball or tennis. The ankle may be twisted inward, causing small tears in the ligaments, which leads to swelling and bruising. Ankle sprains make it difficult to bear weight on the joint.

Plantar Fasciitis can cause both heel and arch pain. It is the inflammation of connective tissue on the sole of the foot. Pain is typically caused by the overuse of the arch tendon which causes mini tears in the tendon. Plantar Fasciitis and heel spurs are most often seen in middle-aged men and women, but can be found in all age groups.
Heel Spurs are an abnormal hook growth of bone that forms on the bottom of the heel bone. They cause pain when walking or standing and can be caused by abnormal gait, bad posture or by wearing inappropriate shoes.

How to apply the Arctic Ease Cryotherapy Wrap to an Ankle and Foot

1. Start wrapping at the ball of foot, continuing under foot from inside to outside.
2. Make 2 or 3 turns around foot moving towards ankle with each turn overlapping one-half of the previous later. Begin a figure-eight turn bringing wrap up outside of foot, over instep and inside around ankle.
3. Continue down inside of foot around heel, back up over instep, down under foot, and back up completely around ankle.
4. Repeat the figure-eight 2 or 3 times overlapping one-half of the previous layer and rising above the ankle. Secure above ankle by smoothing self-adhering wrap.

 

Wrist and Hand Pain

How to apply the Arctic Ease Cryotherapy Wrap to an Elbow

1. Start wrapping above the elbow making one complete circular turn to secure the wrap in place.
2. Bring wrap diagonally behind elbow and around arm just below the elbow. Complete figure-eight by bringing wrap back up diagonally behind the elbow and around the arm just above the knee.
3. Make another complete figure-eight overlapping lower on previous layer.

Shoulder Pain

 

The most common cause of shoulder pain and neck pain is injury to the soft tissues, including the muscles, tendons, and ligaments within these structures. This can occur from whiplash or other injury to these areas. Degenerative arthritis of the spine in the neck which can pinch nerves and result in both neck pain and shoulder pain. Degenerative disc disease in the neck (cervical spondylitis) can cause local neck pain or radiating pain from disc herniation, causing pinching of nerves.

1. We recommend that you have assistance to wrap. Start wrap on outside of arm just below point of injury, wrapping it full circle around back of arm to secure it in place.
2. Bring wrap around back, under other arm, across chest and over shoulder at point of injury.
3. Continue wrap around back, under other arm and smooth self-adhering wrap at chest.
